First Hawaiian Bank is currently seeking an experienced, relationship-focused Vice President & Corporate Banking Officer to join our Corporate Banking team. Reporting to the Corporate Banking Division Manager, you will be primarily responsible for growing and servicing a portfolio of Hawaii and Mainland based business clients of the bank, where you will support credit and underwriting in managing all aspects of the credit process, including structuring of credit facilities and negotiating terms of transactions with clients, deepening client relationships and identifying solutions to meet customer needs, and providing administration and compliance support, including managing the assigned credit portfolio, monitoring assigned credit, and training junior officers.
Compensation
The annual salary range for this role is $90,813 - $150,000/yr; commensurate with experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, economics, or related discipline, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred.
- Working knowledge of cash management/treasury products and services.
- Minimum five years of banking experience to include:
- Formal credit training or two years of work experience in a credit or commercial banking function.
- Two years of experience managing a portfolio of commercial clients.
- Five years of work experience directly relevant to corporate lending/relationship management functions preferred.
- Understanding of the dynamics related to nationally syndicated credits preferred.
- Able to plan, organize and budget.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly synthesize data, develop recommendations, and present to management.
- Able to handle confidential matters judiciously.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines to completion in a timely manner with quality results.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Possesses sales skills to enhance business development objectives.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Advanced lending skills and extensive knowledge of banking products and services.
- Proficient in use of personal computer, Microsoft 365 suite of applications (including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel) and D1.
