The VA Texas Valley Coastal Bend Healthcare System is seeking an Anesthesiologist in Harlingen, TX. Recruitment/Relocation Incentive: Authorized for highly qualified individual. Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Authorized.
Basic Requirements:
- United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- Education: Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine from an approved school.
- License: Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Residency Training: Must have completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- English Language: Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience:
- Board eligible and/or certified in anesthesiology.
- Clinical practice and management experience.
- Experience providing regional anesthesia.
- Experience in ambulatory surgery center environment.
Duties:
The Anesthesiologist is responsible for direct patient care, clinical/administrative supervision of other anesthesia providers, and education of perioperative staff as well as students and residents when required. The service line reports to the Chief of Surgery and will actively participate in supporting the Chief with analysis and proposals to improve productivity, efficiency, and quality of perioperative care.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0800 - 1630
