The Opportunity:
The Marketing Partnerships team is a new vertical within Sephora’s External Communications organization. This team creates strategies that uncover unique intersections to drive connection and client loyalty and produce naturally aligned partnerships that empower involved brands to integrate as change agents. Prioritizing content-driven experiences and campaigns that convert audiences from curious fans into loyal clients, this team will establish new internal and external workflows, roles & responsibilities, and integration across all business units within Sephora while emphasizing flexing new and different capabilities.
Position Overview: The Manager, Marketing Partnerships will support the Partnerships team's strategy to drive Sephora’s relevance through partnerships that inspire, uplift, and celebrate to foster connection and belonging with the next generation of clients. This position requires an organized and collaborative person who can blend critical thinking with hands-on execution, managing campaigns, programming, and high-profile events through the lens of beauty and culture. The Manager will report to the Director, Partnerships.
Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Manage projects from kick-off through launch, defining scope, requirements, timing, and resources needed both internally and externally.
- Act as a central point of contact, working closely with internal Media, Campaign & Content, Brand Marketing, External Communications, Social/Influencer, and global marketing teams to integrate partnerships into Sephora’s business strategy. Externally, serve as the main contact for partner management.
- Communicate updates cross-functionally on project milestones, decisions, status, mitigation, and delivery across business groups. Ensure projects are launched on-time, on-strategy, and meet high-quality standards.
- Manage back-end Partnerships logistics, including cultural calendar, Partnerships email inbox management, cultural newsletter, and scheduling of meetings.
- Travel required for on-site management of partnership activations as needed.
Industry Research & News:
- Stay abreast of evolving cultural trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities to identify potential partnership areas.
- Partner with Brand Marketing to advise on meaningful third-party brand and Sephora philanthropic integration.
- Create and manage Sephora Cultural Newsletter – an internal newsletter on all things partnerships, first-to-market strategies, etc.
- Keep the Cultural team updated with the latest and greatest events, festivals, awards, tentpoles, etc.
- Help identify potential partners that enhance Sephora’s reach and engagement with diverse audiences.
Reporting:
- Conduct performance analysis and prepare hindsight for projects based on identified KPIs.
- Identify and implement actionable recommendations for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4-6 years experience in marketing, business development, or a related field, preferably with a focus on partnership management.
- Demonstrated experience in identifying, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships. Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with partners.
- Ability to cultivate and nurture authentic relationships with key internal and external partners and integrate them into overall brand priorities.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic marketing plans. Experience in market analysis and understanding of marketing metrics.
- Ability to flex from strategic brainstorming to hands-on execution of activations, with an understanding how the little things are also often the big things.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in marketing software and tools, including CRM systems, data analysis tools, and possibly digital marketing platforms.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
The annual base salary range for this position is $93,840.00- $124,830.00. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
