We’re looking for a Security Engineer to join the Infrastructure Security team at Snap Inc!
What you’ll do:
- Design, architect, and implement security controls and frameworks for securing Snap's backend services and cloud infrastructure.
- Influence a wide range of production security initiatives, including visibility, hardening, identity, authentication, networking, and deployments.
- Conduct in-depth security reviews of applications, backend services, and business integrations.
- Identify, triage, and drive the remediation of vulnerabilities and misconfigurations for cloud resources or Snap's backend services.
- Be a champion for security and user privacy.
- Participate in the operational and on-call team duties.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Solid development skills in one or more of the following languages: Go, Python, and Java.
- Experience developing and deploying services in a multi-cloud environment, particularly Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience and security knowledge of one or more domains and technologies: Kubernetes, Containers, Service Mesh, Networking, Operating System internals (preferably Linux), Authentication/Authorization protocols, and Cloud Security tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or equivalent years of experience.
- 3+ years of software development experience.

Compensation: In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC): The base salary range for this position is $152,000-$228,000 annually.
Zone B: The base salary range for this position is $144,000-$217,000 annually.
Zone C: The base salary range for this position is $129,000-$194,000 annually. This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
