Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in finance, with a strong focus on construction
- Bachelor's degree in Finance (MBA highly preferred)
- Proven experience in companies with significant revenues
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to innovate and drive outcomes
- Previous experience with business strategy and handling special projects
- Familiarity with employee ownership structuring and risk management
- Excellent communication, creativity, and work ethic
- Hands-on approach with a collaborative, progressive mindset
- Executive leadership experience with a focus on finance rather than accounting is preferred
- Experience managing cross-functional teams (IT, HR) is preferred
- Familiarity with Sage software is preferred
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Responsibilities
- Lead finance, IT, and HR departments, overseeing at least four direct reports
- Drive financial innovation and business outcomes, ensuring finance is a peer to operations
- Structure employee ownership plans and handle special projects as needed
- Manage risk, handle negotiations, and deal with financial institutions as necessary
- Hold team members accountable, driving performance and meeting key business goals
- Delegate 60% of work while remaining hands-on for 40% of day-to-day tasks
- Collaborate with leadership on long-term growth plans and strategic initiatives
- Maintain and enhance company culture through leadership and strong communication
