The Sr. Manager, Mobile Application Development is responsible for maintaining mobile solutions using cutting edge technologies. Responsibilities include overseeing and managing mobile applications and integrations with enterprise cloud solutions.
This position will serve our Enterprise Division, located in Atlanta, GA or Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage a global team of mobile app developers, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Define the mobile app strategy in alignment with business goals and drive the execution of projects from concept to delivery.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and other cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define features, and prioritize tasks.
- Oversee the development process, ensuring adherence to coding standards, best practices, and project timelines.
- Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain code quality and optimize performance.
- Implement agile development methodologies to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and facilitate continuous improvement.
- Monitor app performance and user feedback, identifying opportunities for enhancements and optimization.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mobile app development to drive innovation and maintain competitive advantage.
- Ensure compliance with mobile app security standards and data protection regulations.
- Complete projects on time and on budget.
- Act as a tech lead on specific projects.
QUALIFICATIONS
- An innovative solution-first spirit and an ability to think creatively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- Experience in back-end integration such as databases and web services (REST, JSON, MQTT).
- Proven experience in mobile app development, with at least 10 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in managing and leading a team of developers to deliver complex mobile applications on schedule and within budget.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and make strategic decisions.
- Strong technical background with proficiency in mobile development languages and frameworks such as Swift, Kotlin, Java, or React Native.
- Solid understanding of mobile app architectures, design principles, and user experience considerations.
- Solid understanding of mobile app security protocols and techniques.
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and project management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, Monday, etc.).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of driving innovation and continuous improvement in mobile app development practices.
- Able to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., product managers, engineers, business teams) and external subject matter experts.
- Passionate about building and owning innovative, customer-facing services/products.
- Great presentation and communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
- HVAC / Water Heating industry experience.
- Cloud or embedded software experience.
