What We Offer
Annual Salary: $180,000 - $200,000

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance & Accounting to join our team in Newport Beach, CA. This is an in-office position that will report directly to the CEO and be on the executive leadership team. The main responsibilities of this role will be to oversee financials for multiple entities, manage the accounting department of 10+ team members, budget management, financial analysis and forecasting, taxes, investment fund accounting, and oversee CEO finances, investments, and taxes. This role has the opportunity to grow into a Chief Finance Office (CFO) position as the company continues to grow. What You'll Do- Oversee company-wide financial operations to include analyzing budgets, monitoring cash flow, ensuring compliance, and overseeing tax filings
- Establish annual financial plans, budgets, and long-term financial forecast that meet the requirements of every division within the company
- Provide accurate reports and financial assessments to senior management, capital partners, and investors
- Develop and maintain financial policies and documentation across the organization
- Develop and maintain accounting principles to ensure all practices, procedures, and internal controls are accurate and up to date with GAAP standards
- Improve current practices and policies to increase efficiency
- Provide leadership, support, and training to accounting teams across multiple locations to include international team members
- Secure financing for investment opportunities within multifamily syndication and new construction development
- Maintain relationships with vendors including banks, lenders, legal, and tax teams
- Offer advice and guidance to executive leadership regarding major financial decisions and analyze financial risks/benefits of business initiatives
What Qualifies You- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or related field
- 7+ years' experience in financial accounting and/or finance with exposure to real estate and private lending
- 5+ years' experience leading, managing, and developing finance/accounting teams of 10+ reports
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) certification
- Expert knowledge of accounting principles to include U.S. GAAP and investment fund accounting
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, organization, and analytical skills
