Marine Service Manager
Minnesota Inboard Water Sports is looking for a Full Time Service Manager for our Brainerd Marine Service Department. We are looking for someone with extensive management experience and a proactive "can-do" mentality to lead our great team and operation! Qualified candidates will have experience managing a fast-paced and dynamic team. Must be highly organized, able to lead by example, decisive, able to identify and solve problems, and able to deliver a high level of customer service to our great MN Inboard Family of Boaters. Daily duties include managing service writers to ensure all technicians are fully scheduled each day, assisting customers in person, on the phone, and via email and text, managing parts, managing operations, strategic planning, etc. Management and leadership qualities are more important than knowledge of our industry and products. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing work flow and shop flow
- Optimizing our procedures and solidifying their implementation across our service department
- Ensuring continuous financial growth of the service department
- Building a winning team by recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, evaluating, and motivating the Service Department Team
- Actively contributing to creating a collaborative and supportive environment, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect.
- Assisting customers in person, on the phone, through email and text with their various service needs
- Writing and managing Repair Orders, scheduling work, and billing
- The ability to navigate and lead through change is a key aspect of this role, ensuring that our team remains agile and well-positioned for future success.
- Organizing Storage Facilities
- Understanding and keeping abreast of the federal, state, and local regulations that affect operations and complying with these regulations as well as hazardous waste disposal and OSHA regulations.
- Implementing safe, effective, and efficient work procedures
- Active involvement in overseeing and enhancing revenue generation for a profitable facility
Job Requirements:
- Must be a strong leader and manager with extensive management experience
- Ability to promote a culture of collaboration.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work in a team environment and lead by example is essential - we are very team-oriented
- Excellent time management and organizational skills in order to keep up with a demanding schedule
- Ability to understand what our customers are looking for and communicate effectively and professionally with them, maintaining a very high level of customer service
- Rapid learning capability, a robust dedication to work, and exceptional follow-up skills
- Prior experience in the marine, power sports, or automotive industry is a plus, but not required
- General understanding of the products we sell and service and mechanical aptitude is a plus, but not required
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) and management software (Lightspeed EVO is a plus)
Physical Requirements:
- Occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds
- Walk/stand for most of the workday

We are also closed from December 24th – January 1st for our team to spend time with their families over the holidays.
