City Experiences is seeking a Principal Architect Software Engineering for our Technology operation.

About The Opportunity
The Principal Architect will be responsible for helping the head of technology to set software engineering standards and select tools for all development efforts. The Principal Architect will provide mentorship to the rest of the team in the use of such standards and tools.
The Principal Architect will assist the Security, Systems, Data teams, and software development teams throughout the company in selecting, evaluating, piloting, testing, troubleshooting, developing, and integrating systems as required by the business. The keys to success in this position are successful leadership through technical influence, and providing value that enables the business to make money, and or operate more effectively and efficiently.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Be the top individual contributor/leader on software development and open-source.
- Help develop and implement the company’s enterprise architecture.
- Participate and lead in direct software development/integration efforts.
- Lead in research and evaluations of new technologies that could benefit the company.
- Drive standards and methodologies that make our work efficient and effective.
- Support others, helping them break through tough issues and improve their skills.
- Document technology through direct participation and leadership throughout the org.
- Establish and create standards, processes, and methodologies across technology areas.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Ability to discern and prioritize issues in both business and technical context.
- Top verbal and written communications skills.
- Top analytic skills.
- Proven proficiency in computer science and software engineering.
- Wide familiarity with programming languages, operating systems, platforms, and frameworks.
- Mentoring and leadership capabilities – leadership through influence.
- Technical understanding of secure infrastructure and security tools.
- Advanced degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 15-20 years experience in software development.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems is required.
- Ability to openly self-evaluate and identify ability or inability to complete an assignment without help.
- Willingness to learn and take on stretch assignments (with help and support).
- Must be able to mentor others.
- Must be able to gain respect and confidence across the company.
