As our Manager, User Experience you will...
Craft exceptional digital experiences and contribute to a vibrant community of designers, researchers, and strategists.
You'll be responsible for leading design initiatives from applying customer insights to identifying opportunities, through the execution and delivery of solutions. You take pride in understanding business objectives, applying user insights, and delivering meaningful outcomes for clients and their customers. You have a passion for human-centered design and are excited to work flexibly across a range of focus areas, from digital product development, to dot coms of scale, to omnichannel customer experiences.
Be Accountable and Responsible
- Leads the design process, from applying user insights, to prototyping and testing, through to delivery.
- Applies expertise in Experience Design principles, emerging trends, and technologies to create digital products and multi-channel digital experiences that users find valuable.
- Leads the conceptual and detailed design of multi-channel digital solutions and systems, ensuring solutions are best-in-class.
- Applies research to inform innovative digital experiences, including generative research (e.g. personas, journey maps), formative research (e.g. co-design, card sorting, tree testing) evaluative testing (usability).
- Design leadership, mentoring fellow Experience designers, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Stays current with the latest design trends, techniques, and technologies, integrating them into your work and the team’s workflow.
- Consistently contributes the highest quality work while helping to foster a healthy and energizing work environment for the team around you.
- Advocates for the end-user, and champions accessibility and inclusion, ensuring that user needs and perspectives are central to the design process.
- Familiarity with analytics and how to incorporate data-driven insights to improve design solutions.
- Client engagement, serving as a key contact who understands their vision, and helps translate it into compelling digital solutions.
- Presents design concepts and strategies to clients, confidently communicating design rationale and potential impact.
- Takes responsibility for solutions that align with project goals and measurement objectives.
- Talks informally about design trends and work worth noting, stoking shared interest in good design and the role it plays in people's lives.
These are the qualifications we’re looking for
- 5-8 years experience designing solutions, preferably in an advertising agency and/or consulting firm.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field and/or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with one or more of these verticals: healthcare (providers, health insurance, life science), consumer products, financial services, e-commerce.
- Creative problem solver who enjoys a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across a variety of digital platforms (websites, mobile apps, digital products, cross-channel experiences).
- Actionable application of UX principles, information architecture, and interaction design.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and practices of component-based design systems, delivering consistency and efficiency across platforms.
- Knowledgeable about responsive and adaptive design practices.
- Adept with design and prototyping tools (e.g., Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, InVision).
- Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for collaborating with visual design and development teams.
- Practical knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design standards including the ability to apply Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Solid understanding of front-end development and its impact on design. (Hands-on HTML/CSS/JavaScript knowledge is nice to have, as is familiarity with frameworks e.g. React, Angular, Vue.)
- Experience with research tools such as UserTesting, Lookback, or Optimal Workshop.
- Experience with agile and lean UX methodologies.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Communicates effectively and proactively.
- Team-oriented with a growth mindset. Comfortable with making mistakes, committed to helping the extended team apply learning for next time. (Let’s make better mistakes tomorrow!)
- Experience with component-based design systems is a requirement. Beyond this, particular experience with one or more of these platforms is a plus: Adobe Experience platform, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Sitecore, or e-commerce platforms (Magento, Shopify).
- This role will collaborate with visual designers. Any additional digital design experience is a plus (i.e. typography, color theory, and applying visual design principles in creating user-centric designs).
