Our Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Thermal Sciences Senior Engineer for our Thermal Sciences Practice in Natick, MA. In this role, you will work as part of a team, applying fundamental engineering and scientific techniques to real-world problems in failure analysis, risk mitigation, and product development.
You will be responsible for
- Conducting, planning, and executing experimental test programs
- Developing and using numerical and analytical models of physical phenomena
- Researching published literature
- Conducting risk assessments, fieldwork, and inspections
- Preparing and discussing proposals, presentations, and technical reports with clients
- Managing projects and maintaining efficiency under deadlines
You will have the following skills and qualifications
- Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with a practical and theoretical understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and chemical reactions
- 3+ years of relevant post-graduate experience
- One to two years of postgraduate work experience in the process industry or alternative energy is preferred
- Outstanding ability to apply fundamental engineering concepts to new problems
- Strong interest and demonstrated ability in unit operations, chemical reactor design and analysis, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and alternative energy
- Strong quantitative skills including mathematical modeling, optimization, and numerical analysis
- Hands-on experience in designing and executing experimental programs
- Demonstrated leadership skills and proven ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Enduring commitment to professional development as evidenced by a track record of peer-reviewed publications, participation in technical conferences, and commitment to professional engineering licensure or professional certifications
- Strong desire and ability to tackle a wide variety of engineering problems within and outside direct areas of specialization
