Job Overview
HealthRIGHT 360 San Mateo Clinic is a Federally Qualified Health Center that is focused on providing primary care and addiction treatment. Our target population are those that are suffering from substance use disorder, mental illness, experiencing homelessness, or have a history with the criminal justice system. We provide trauma informed care under a harm reduction philosophy. This is a small practice with 2 to 3 providers and support staff. We work closely with the county that provides case management for many of the clients.
The Medical Director is primarily responsible for the provision of the productive and quality medical practice at the HR360 San Mateo Medical clinic. In addition to primary care the focus of the clinic is the provision and support of the treatment of Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership/Management:
- Acts as liaison between behavioral health and medical/primary care programs.
- Collaborates with the SM Director of Addiction to provide substance use disorder treatment and provide care coordination between the clinic and behavioral health programs.
Clinical Staff Direction Responsibilities:
- Provides medical supervision and oversight of quality of care among providers and ancillary staff in clinical areas.
- Reviews employee performance, provides feedback and makes recommendations for individual performance improvement and development for medical providers and other staff.
Medical Practice:
- Provides primary care and medically assisted treatment to patients suffering from Substance-Related and Addictive Disorders.
Agency Development/Support Responsibilities:
- Attend agency wide meetings as appropriate.
- Act as co-lead in continuing the advance of the integration of behavioral health and medical services for the agency.
Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Required:
- M.D. or D.O. degree from accredited United States medical school.
- Successful completion of Internship and Residency from accredited internship/residency program.
- Three to five years experience as a licensed primary care physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant.
- Three years experience in supervisory and/or management position.
- Experience providing medication assisted treatment substance-related and addictive disorders or willingness to be trained to provide within 6 months of hire.
Certification/Licensure:
- Board Certified in family medicine or internal medicine and/or addiction medicine.
- Valid and active California medical license, without any limitations on license to practice in designated specialty.
- Eligible to participate in the CMS Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement programs.
- Valid and active DEA license.
