Business Technology Integrators (BTI) is seeking a talented Network Engineer to support the Department of Energy in Washington, DC.
The effort will focus on a wide range of IT services through migration to the Intelligence Community (IC) information sharing, secure cloud-based operational environment, the Intelligence Community’s Information Technology Enterprise (ICITE) along with an array of technical expertise and analytical support which allows DOE and the United States Intelligence Community (USIC) to detect, protect, mitigate, and counter hostile threats directed against DOE networks and critical national assets.
Responsibilities
- Implement, upgrade, configure network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds
- Upgrade and replace EOL routers and switches
- Comply with configuration management, change management and other policy management documentation requirements
- Provide input and best practice recommendations for Network redesign
- Implement and troubleshoot MPLS Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNS, IP, IPV6, OSPF, BGP, RIPV1, RIPV2, IS-IS, EIGRP, OSPFv3, RIPng, EIGRPv6, and static routes.
- Analyze and provide recommendations for the continuous security improvement of the network
- Utilize COMSEC Monitoring/Inventory Tools such as GEM-X and GEMONE
- Create IPSEC tunnels utilizing Type-1 Crypto-graphic equipment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 10+ years networking experience
- Experience managing and monitoring Cisco and Juniper platforms
- Experience automating monitoring and reporting
- Experience troubleshooting complex layer 2 and layer 3 issues
- Project Management tracking tools such as JIRA
- COMSEC Monitoring/Inventory Tools such as GEM-X and GEMONE
- Must have an active Top-Secret clearance; highly desired is a TS with SSBI within last 2 years or Q clearance or SCI
