Oracle Senior Software Engineer (OCI) Annapolis, Maryland
The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team builds and operates massive-scale, integrated cloud services in a distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. OCI is committed to providing the best cloud products that meet the needs of our customers, who are tackling some of the world's biggest challenges. We are looking for a Senior Member of Technical Staff to help us build high-performance API services that secure and protect API traffic at OCI.
As an ideal candidate, you will have knowledge of large-scale services in a distributed cloud environment. In addition, you will have an understanding of Linux fundamentals and will combine this knowledge with your hands-on experience in software development. You will champion creating an engineering environment that embodies the best development and testing practices for delivering secure, scalable, and highly available services. You should work comfortably in a collaborative, remote, and agile environment, and be excited to learn.

Responsibilities
- Help design and develop highly scalable and performant API services used by hundreds of teams at OCI.
- Implement, deploy, and operate highly available and secure cloud services.
- Design and develop code, unit tests, and integration tests.
- Use the CI/CD pipeline for pre-production functionality, performance, and scalability testing.
- Participate in our on-call rotation to monitor our service fleet.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in software development, developing large-scale distributed services/applications.
- Proficiency in Java/Python/C++ and Object-Oriented programming.
- Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of cloud computing & networking technologies.
- Knowledge of APIs and API Security.

Range and benefit information
US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
