We are seeking a Senior Director, Global Publishing & Partnerships, Mojang Studios to lead our efforts in expanding the global reach for Minecraft’s portfolio of games through multiple endpoints and fostering strategic partnerships. In this role, you will lead a team and be responsible for setting the product and technology strategy and driving business growth in the following areas:
- Minecraft China. In partnership with Netease, set a product & technology vision and strategy for long term, sustainable growth for Minecraft China.
- Endpoints. Ensure our portfolio of Minecraft games are thriving across all our new and existing endpoints - delivering on player expectations and driving business growth.
You will also be accountable for leading Minecraft’s strategic partnerships (including platform partners such as Amazon, Apple, Google, Nintendo, Sony, Xbox and more) to grow our business, establishing and managing global partnerships for Minecraft, and for publishing management & best practices to support the Minecraft games teams. Critical to this role is collaborating with cross-functional teams within the studio and with external partners.
As the Senior Director, Global Publishing & Partnerships, you will be a vital member of the Minecraft Brand, Growth & Partnerships leadership team. You will play a key role in growing our business by continuing to build out Minecraft as a multi-generational gaming and entertainment franchise.

Responsibilities
- Develop long term product strategies and product & technology roadmaps aligned with desired business and player centric outcomes.
- Ensure long term product strategies and roadmaps are aligned with broader Minecraft franchise strategy and goals.
- Lead and empower functioning teams that deliver with quality.
- Be a steward of the Minecraft brand and brand values.
- Implement best practices in operating models to ensure efficient and timely delivery on product commitments.
- Share progress updates and highlight any risks / mitigations on roadmap commitments with Mojang leadership on a regular cadence.
- Stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve production processes.
- Collaborate with leadership to align on Mojang’s direction and business state.
- Contribute to leadership efforts in driving decisions to create functioning teams and foster a healthy, engaged studio.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- 6+ years people management experience.
- Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of experience in publishing new games and ongoing updates across multiple platforms.
- Familiarity with structuring and negotiating co-development, publishing, and licensing arrangements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 8+ years people management experience. Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development OR equivalent experience.
- Business acumen with a history of growing products into successful, profitable businesses.
- A proven track record of leading and developing people in the games industry.
- Experience with leading product strategy and production for successful mobile and/or PC/console titles.
- Presentation skills, with experience demonstrating games/products to various audiences.
- 10+ years leading multidisciplinary teams to launch and maintain/update a consumer product or service (eg video games, film/tv/streaming content or service), ideally on multiple platforms.
- Experience with structuring partnerships and working with external partners to execute on product plans including structuring and negotiating co-development, publishing, and licensing arrangements.
- Successful track record in developing and delivering on a product vision, strategy and roadmap to achieve business goals.
Product Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $161,600 - $286,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $209,600 - $314,400 per year.
