Job Description:
Perform diverse and complex financial, compliance, and operational internal audits of County agencies or businesses. Collaborate with other colleagues during all phases of the audit process including developing the audit plan, objectives, scope, and procedures. Prepare audit programs to achieve objectives. Complete audits on time and within budget. Responsible for gathering and analyzing sufficient evidence and data to reach a conclusion on the audit objectives. Conduct interviews in County agencies to obtain understandings of internal control structures and document understandings in a clear and concise manner. Prepare audit reports and management letters to communicate the results of each audit performed. Assist with following up on the implementation of audit recommendations. Communicate results of internal audits to leadership. Provide guidance and mentorship for auditing staff and delegate work, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree or higher is required.
- Five (5) years in conducting audits or directly related experience is required.
- In good standing as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Government Audit Professional (CGAP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), or relevant area is required.
- Valid driver's license is required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS), the Institute of Internal Auditor’s (IIA) International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Skill evaluating information and organizing information in a logical manner to support audit results.
- Ability to distinguish between errors, irregularities, and illegal acts, and take appropriate reporting actions when necessary.
- Ability to direct the analytical review process.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in written formats to review and respond to the written correspondence of other auditors.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Visio.
- Ability to drive to audit locations and work in offsite locations.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and colleagues.
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
