KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for an enterprise-wide clinical and non-clinical training curriculum that complements and aligns with VITAS’ mission, values, and strategic objectives.
- Leads the clinical workforce development and training team, fostering collaboration and innovation to deliver effective training programs and resources.
- Develop learning roadmaps, development processes, and programs to support the organization’s diverse talent and leadership needs at all levels, ensuring appropriate workforce planning strategies/mechanisms are in place to support growth objectives.
- Curriculum Design and Content Development: Lead the design of engaging curriculum and development of high-quality content (text, graphical, multimedia) for various training modalities (knowledge bases, job aids, modules, self-paced courses) across the enterprise.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with clinical, admissions, compliance, quality, marketing, and IT teams to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of training initiatives.
- External Engagement: Build relationships with industry experts and organizations to enhance training resources and represent the organization at conferences.
- Onboarding and Continuous Improvement: Create a comprehensive onboarding experience for new hires and foster a culture of continuous learning and development, emphasizing self-led learning opportunities. Oversee the full onboarding and orientation process.
- Facilitates training sessions as needed.
- Travel as needed.

Quality Improvement
- Evaluates the impact of clinical educational programs and coordinates future curriculum based on needs assessment, surveys, and impact of courses.
- Develops, monitors, updates, and communicates ongoing strategic plan and goals for People Development.
Data Reporting and Analytics
- Develops and maintains dashboard of training KPIs and Scorecards, presenting and explaining findings to Sr. Leadership.
- Analyzes data for trends and patterns with attention to onboarding, compliance training, Certificate programs, and other enterprise-wide training initiatives.
- Reports training status updates, including completions to field operations leadership to support state-specific and enterprise-wide regulatory compliance training.
EXPERIENCE
- 5-7 years’ experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suites, Learning Applications, and Learning Management System required.
- Registered Nursing experience in a healthcare setting, hospice preferred.
- Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, with analytical skills, communication skills, business acumen, learning and adaptability, leadership skills, and influential skills.
- Ability to build and work with various data resources for recording and reporting learning metrics.
- Strategic capability with strong agility to develop and oversee the implementation of diverse projects.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry trends in healthcare and clinical education.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Organization Development, Training, Human Resources, Business, and/or a related area of study required.
CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE
Active Registered Nurse License Preferred.
