With Aplos, nonprofit groups and faith-based organizations of every shape, size, and mission can seamlessly run their finances and operations, manage their business and bottom line, and proactively engage their communities and donors when it matters most. We’re a remote team, spread across North America (with peers all over the world).
We’re looking for a Director of Product to operationalize our product strategy and run a first-class product team across Aplos, and our sister products – Raisely and Keela. You’ll be accountable for the full product lifecycle at an exciting time in our business, as we seek to build and launch the first non-profit cloud. In this team, you’ll get to lean into your entrepreneurial streak and – through our incredible customers – have a positive impact on the world by amplifying non-profits.
About the role
As the Director of Product at Aplos, you’ll be the beating heart of our product team. Forging close working relationships across our group of companies, you’ll lead our product operations. From managing our roadmap to coordinating excellent relationships with our customer, sales, and marketing teams – you’ll bring operational excellence to our team of product managers and designers.
Supported by our Chief Product Officer, you’ll oversee our product strategy, customer research, feature development, team rhythms, analysis, and cross-functional coordination. You’ll work alongside a passionate, global product team and operate inside a business that believes excellent product is the key to success.
Location
We are hiring in the US and Canada and require the successful applicant to work pacific hours. See below for preferred hiring locations we currently support.
What will you be doing?
Here’s what this role looks like day-in, day-out across three products – Aplos, Keela, and Raisely:
- Oversee and manage the full product lifecycle, from strategy to research and evaluation.
- Foster effective cross-functional relationships with engineering and the wider business.
- Be hands-on and provide director-level support to our product initiatives and strategy.
- Hold us to an exceptional standard of research, analysis, documentation, and design.
- Hire into our product team and develop growth pathways for PMs and designers.
- Become an industry expert, deeply understanding non-profits, accounting, and the technical spaces we operate in.
What we’re looking for
You’re a superb collaborator
You thrive on bringing people together, and your coordination skills have achieved real business outcomes in the past. Your colleagues describe you as empowering or amplifying. When you’re involved in a product initiative, everyone in the business knows what’s going on – and why we’re doing it. Plus – you can bring all of that to a remote, global work environment.
You’re experienced
You’ve been at this for a while, can navigate interdependencies, growing companies, and manage internal teams. You’re a natural leader with a point-of-view you can substantiate. You’re a product veteran with over 10 years experience, and you’re excited to take the next step.
You’re curious and pragmatic
You’re a self-learner, you don’t need to be told what to do every day, and you never let perfect be the enemy of good. You’re quick to pick up a new industry – even if it’s technical – and want to get into the weeds of a problem. You understand that a SaaS product is iterative, and we need to hold short and long term goals in the same hand.
You care about making a difference
Our product team at Aplos, Keela, and Raisely exists in service of our world-changing non-profit customers, and we are deeply invested in their success. So, you’ve gotta want to back them too!
Ok, and why work with us?
You’ll be joining a product team that’s in a transformational moment. We’re passionate, refining our craft, and seeking ways to amplify our work. Zooming out, you’ll be able to contribute to an industry-defining non-profit cloud, helping tens of thousands of nonprofits serve their communities better.
Plus – we have fun. This is a driven team, we hate busy work, and amplify each other. It’s the environment you need to thrive.
If you needed more convincing, here’s the rest of it:
- Salary – Pay range depends on location and is US: $175,000 - $200,000 USD, Canada: $155,000-$180,000 CAD. Your base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, experience, and geographic location.
- Flexible hours – Working here is about getting your work done, not clocking hours. We provide genuine flexibility and control over your time.
- In-person meetups – Every year you’ll get together with other product folks in our group to hone your craft.
- Remote work & leave – We’re a remote-first company. We also have a generous PTO plan and support paid parental leave.
