What You'll Do
BSA LifeStructures is seeking an experienced and licensed architect to join our team as the Director of Facility Planning. This role is crucial for leading the initial planning phases of our projects, ensuring that we are positioned as industry leaders and delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning Leadership
- Lead the upfront planning and programming efforts for projects in the healing, learning, and discovery sectors.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and translate them into strategic facility plans.
- Guide project teams in developing innovative solutions that align with client goals and industry standards.
Client Engagement and Relationship Building
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure long-term success and repeat business.
- Conduct presentations and workshops to engage clients and stakeholders in the planning process.
Project Management and Coordination
- Oversee the development of master plans, feasibility studies, and space programming.
- Ensure that all planning activities are aligned with project goals, budgets, and timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and external partners to deliver comprehensive planning solutions.
Market Positioning and Thought Leadership
- Develop and promote practice-related content, including case studies, market trends, and thought leadership articles.
- Represent BSA LifeStructures at industry events, conferences, and speaking engagements.
- Contribute to the firm’s reputation as a leader in facility planning through published works and public presentations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture or a related field.
- Licensure: Licensed Architect with current registration; NCARB certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in facility planning, with a strong focus on healthcare, education, or research projects.
- Skills:
- Strategic thinking and ability to develop long-term planning solutions.
- Excellent client engagement and communication skills.
- Strong project management and coordination capabilities.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including Revit, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
