Job Summary: Our company is actively seeking an experienced board-certified cardiologist to join our existing cardiologist’s growing practice environment. Providing high-quality general cardiology care in an office-based and inpatient setting.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provides specialized medical care to patients with problems relating to the cardiovascular system.
- Examine, obtain medical history, and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
- Collaborate on improvement in care delivery and service with management, other physicians, and staff.
- Orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic tests as needed.
- Create treatment plans, and involve patients and family members in those plans.
- Promotes wellness and health education in the community.
- Initiates appropriate referrals to specialists and hospital programs.
- Ensures proper patient documentation is timely, accurate, and complete.
- Works with practice management to ensure proper compliance with billing and coding.
- Participates in on-call coverage for the practice and hospital. Call rotation of 1 in 6. (Weekends hospital EKG +ECG reading rotations as assigned)
- Provides quality supervision of residents, medical students, nurses, medical assistants, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other clinical staff at the site.
Chief Responsibilities:
- Assist credentialing process.
- Monitor quality care within the department.
- Establish program of continuing education in cardiology.
- Work with practice and hospital leadership on performance improvement initiatives.
Education/Licensing Requirements:
- Graduation from accredited medical school (MD or DO).
- Graduation from accredited Internal Medicine & Cardiology.
- Valid and unrestricted Connecticut medical license or ability to obtain.
- Valid DEA registration and Controlled Substance Certificate.
- Board certified in Cardiovascular Disease.
- Certification in Echocardiography preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in practice.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary plus incentive compensation based on productivity and quality measures. Physician will also share in bonus awards based on participation in quality or utilization programs from various insurers.
