Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital pediatric neurology/neurosurgery program is one of the largest in the Southeast and provides comprehensive care for patients throughout Florida, the United States, and internationally. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate APRN or PA to join our esteemed Neurology team to manage patients across the continuum along with our physician partners. As members of the Johns Hopkins All Children's Institute for Brain Protection Sciences, our team works closely with the pediatric neurologists, neuroimaging, neuro-oncology and neuropathology specialists.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to assess, diagnose, and treat pediatric neurosurgical patients.
- Conduct comprehensive physical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
- Provide family-centered care by effectively communicating with patients' families, addressing their concerns, and involving them in the decision-making process.
- Participate in medical rounds, case presentations, and educational activities to enhance team knowledge and clinical practice.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and research projects to advance pediatric neurology practices.
- The APRN or PA demonstrates understanding of internal and external APRN or PA practice rules, regulations and legislation to maintain compliance and certification.
- Serves as an advocate for the needs of the patients across the health care continuum ensuring the best patient and family experience and to advance pediatric health throughout the community we serve.
- Integrates ethical principles in decision making.
Qualifications:
- Pediatric Primary or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, FNP or Physician Assistant certification and licensure in the state of Florida.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Pediatric Acute or Primary Care Nursing, FNP or Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
- Current BLS and PALS certification.
- Pediatric acute care experience preferred.
- Prior experience in pediatric neurology or neurosurgery or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Dedication to providing compassionate and family-centered care to pediatric patients.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning.
