Job overview
Applications are invited for an enthusiastic, dedicated colleague to join the team. The post holder will support general nephrology activity, AKI management and 7-day working. In addition, the post-holder will have responsibility for the haemodialysis patients at the Boston haemodialysis unit. However, the job plan is provisional and the post-holder would be expected to work with the existing consultants to enhance services across Lincolnshire.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be required to:
- Undertake such other duties as may be identified to meet the needs of the service.
- Provide cover for colleagues during periods of absence.
- Attend regularly nephrology department team meetings.
- Clinical supervision of trainees.
- Have continuing responsibility for patients in his/her care and for the proper functioning of the department of nephrology.
- Attend renal biopsy meetings, clinical meetings, and consultant network meetings.
- Take part in team, department, regional, and national audits.
- Participate in ongoing development of the nephrology service.
- Participate in the nephrologist of the week.
- Participate in on-call service for nephrology at Lincoln County Hospital (1 in 6 rota).

Person specification
- Full Registration with the GMC
- Entry on the GMC specialist register via: - CCT in Nephrology (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) - CESR or - European Community rights
- Wide experience in Nephrology
- MRCP or equivalent
- ALS
- Evidence of an active research interest in Nephrology
