Position Summary
Director, Technical Product Management designs, develops and manages activities for a specific product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. Serves as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line.
Essential Job Functions:
- Support vision, leadership, and direction for specific product line(s) and categories.
- Able to demonstrate product vision, critical thinking, and drive innovation.
- Drive hardware strategy and business decisions for responsible products and services.
- Market mapping and opportunity discovery (will work in conjunction with commercial lead to define opportunities within new and existing customers).
- Competitor mapping – functional, commercial – including gap analysis.
- Pricing and Commercial model setting.
- Product lifecycle management and communication.
- Sales enablement support for marketing team.
- Subject matter expert support for pre-sales.
- Roadmap definition, communication (including breakfix support and new product development).
- Manages the business model and utilizes close collaboration with software development to optimize product market launches.
- Manages market requirements and execution of participation roadmap by driving new product launches through launch process.
- Collaborates with US/India teams on product development and selling new products.
- Identifies new opportunities for developing products from concept to distribution.
- Provides technical and market expertise for specific gaming markets.
- Hires and manages professional individual contributors, often at mid to senior levels.
- Understands what it takes for their team to be successful and a high performer with a proven ability to have a meaningful career conversation with senior individuals looking to develop long term career path across Light & Wonder.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in product development / management.
- Previous experience in Gaming preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven leadership, excellent organizational and management skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legal codes in business and gaming.
- Strong problem solving and goal setting skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Skills in financial and ROI analysis.
- Understanding of Gaming industry, regulatory compliance and protocols.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
- Master's degree preferred.
