Summary
The Corporate Counsel will provide valuable support to the business, regularly working with other members of the legal team, and will work across the organization, primarily with the Sales team, the Customer Success team, and the Information Security team.
How will you contribute?- Review, redline, and negotiate customer agreements at all levels of the business (SMB/MM/PUBSEC/ENT), including renewals.
- Prepare customer amendments and other notices.
- Review, redline, and negotiate vendor agreements.
- Review, redline, and negotiate other agreements related to customers as needed (NDAs, etc.).
- Back up (to Staff Attorney) on legal queue & vendor queue management and matters (co-management).
- Participate in data privacy and data protection matters at the direction of Senior Corporate Counsel.
- Assist in the development of policies and procedures for legal team and the business.
- Other duties as assigned.
What will you bring?- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA accredited institution is required.
- Active bar member in any state.
- A minimum of 3 years of legal experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working in a customer-facing, project/program management/consultant role for technology or services deployments.
- Regulatory knowledge in the financial services industry with a broker/dealer, RIA and/or banking preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies, sometimes using limited information.
- Solid background in defining business rules to meet compliance and monitoring requirements.
- Working knowledge of email, IM and social media, as they relate to compliance regulations.
- Excellent customer service, legal department NPS goal of 70+
- Excellent communication skills; comfortable in various modes of communication – phone, chat, email.
- Skilled negotiator, experience working across business departments to achieve a common goal.
- Technical knowledge; familiarity and comfort using databases and Office 365 tools; Salesforce, JIRA experience helpful.
- Ability to handle multiple projects at once and stay focused in a very fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
