As the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you'll join a dedicated team and a strong board committed to providing exceptional community programs. The CEO will build trust and extend the breadth and depth of the Y’s reach across our service area. The CEO will lead collaborative efforts to grow and maintain productive working relationships in the community that enhance our reputation and further our mission and impact. One of the important roles of the CEO is to ensure the safety and well-being of young people. It’s foundational to everything we do as a youth-serving organization. The CEO creates a culture of safety for everyone by exceeding standards and maintaining compliance.
About the YMCA:
The Foundation YMCA of Wilson is a new, state-of-the-art facility. It strengthens the foundation of our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Our Y is for people of all ages, faiths, races, abilities, and income…it is for all. We strive to reinforce a sense of personal worth of self and others as an experience characterized by supportive relationships and innovative opportunities to pursue a healthier and happier lifestyle.
The Y features an amazing middle school afterschool program Y-GIG (Youth Gather, Interact & Grow), two indoor swimming pools, over 50 weekly fitness classes, a robust wellness floor, an indoor track, gymnasium, and childwatch that provide many opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

About the Area:
Wilson has something for everyone! Wilson, NC is filled with southern charm as well as innovation and a collaborative spirit. There are many top companies (large and small), banks, retail, and numerous local businesses that call Wilson County home. There is a robust agricultural presence as well as pharmaceutical, medical, and aerospace.
Wilson is home to numerous art galleries, museums, and gardens, locally owned brewery and bottle shops, theater, music events and festivals, and historic charm. A true hometown feeling.
Wilson County provides affordable living, solid infrastructure, great schools including Barton College and Wilson Community College, driving distance to beaches and mountains, and 45 miles to an international airport. Wilson Medical Center is a Duke Life Point Hospital serving Wilson and surrounding counties.
The Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park makes its home in downtown Wilson. Whirligigs are large kinetic sculptures made from salvaged metal. Construction is underway just beyond Whirligig Park for a $75.5 million stadium. The Single A Minor League Baseball Team, the Carolina Mudcats, is expected to relocate to Wilson following the 2025 season. Wilson is also home to the Wilson TOBS Baseball Organization.
