Director of Business Development - Consumer/CPG
Performance Health is seeking a Director of Business Development, Consumer/CPG to join our team. In this role, you will drive the growth and strategic expansion of our retail marketplace. You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships with brands, and optimizing our marketplace presence. Leading a dedicated team, you will work closely with cross-functional departments to enhance marketplace offerings, improve vendor relationships, and increase revenue.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to expand the retail marketplace by onboarding new brands and products.
Identify and prioritize high-value opportunities and strategic partnerships.
Set and track performance metrics to measure success and adjust strategies as needed.
Proactively identify and pursue new brands and products for marketplaces through prospecting, networking, and consistently generating a robust pipeline to achieve aggressive sales targets. - Market and Competitor Analysis:
Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
Analyze performance data to drive informed decisions and identify areas for growth. - Partnership and Vendor Management:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key retail partners, vendors, and stakeholders.
Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Work with vendors to enhance marketplace offerings and align with strategic goals. - Platform Optimization:
Collaborate with relevant teams to ensure the marketplace platform is effective and meets the needs of partners and customers.
Implement strategies to optimize product listings, promotions, and overall marketplace performance. - Team Leadership:
Lead and mentor a team of business development professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for team members. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with marketing, operations, and product teams to align business development initiatives with overall company objectives.
Ensure seamless integration of marketplace activities with other business functions. - Performance Tracking and Reporting:
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to marketplace growth and performance.
Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, stakeholders, and strategic partners. - Customer Experience Enhancement:
Analyze customer feedback and market data to drive improvements in the marketplace.
Implement strategies to enhance the customer experience and increase satisfaction.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related discipline
- 7-10 years of consumer product goods (CPG) experience in ecommerce and/or marketplaces
