Job Overview:
The Director of Information Technology is responsible for all delivery and support aspects of the backend IT infrastructure system. The person is a technical escalation point for all server and network-related issues. The successful candidate will have broad and deep IT technology experience coupled with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prioritize, and schedules help desk activities to ensure maximum issue resolutions in minimum time.
- Ensure day-to-day operations of technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, etc.
- Manage and ensure the effectiveness of servers, including e-mail, print, and backup servers, and their associated operating systems and software and network hardware and equipment, including routers, switches, hubs, UPSs, (responsible for on-site and off-site data centers).
- Installs, implements, configures and monitors equipment and software/firmware for all components of the company LAN, WAN, storage, and servers.
- Manage and ensure the effectiveness of security solutions, including firewalls, anti-virus solutions, and intrusion detection systems.
- Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining the network infrastructure.
- Ensure there is adequate emergency coverage for information technology issues, as required,
- Mentor and train staff to foster an operational excellence culture within the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology or business discipline, or equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- 7+ years previous successful work experience
- In-depth hands-on experience in Enterprise solutions including AWS, Azure, GCP hosted server environments, and Office 365 administration.
- In-depth knowledge of IT infrastructure technology including servers, desktops, storage, networks, operating systems, platforms, and configurations in particular, Active Directory, Office 365, Windows 7 -10 Enterprise, backup, SAN, ISCSI.
- Network skills: Switching (Capacity Planning & VLAN's), Routing (OSPF, RIPv2, BGP), WAN Technology (VPLS, VPN), Voice Technologies (VoIP, SIP Trunking), and Large-Scale Wireless Deployments.
- Expert level understanding of Microsoft operating systems, SAN storage, database, ISA hardware, HA/BC/DR concepts/techniques.
- Demonstrate the ability to establish good working relationships with other departments, including vendors, colleagues, and subordinates.
- Demonstrates the appropriate technical knowledge necessary to make sound decisions on development issues with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze data and information and assess and resolve complex problems/issues as required.
- Must be able to comprehend and follow all applicable SOPs.
- Demonstrate knowledge and experience with electronic Quality Management Systems such as MasterControl and Trackwise.
- Demonstrate ability to acquire the appropriate knowledge from resources on the current federal, local, and international regulations regarding the production, testing, and release of drug substances and products.
- Good understanding of cGMPs, industry, and regulatory standards and guidelines.
- Demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Teams, Outlook, etc.
- Demonstrate the ability to portray the appropriate level of integrity and professionalism.
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with management, staff, regulators, and client representatives in written and verbal formats.
- Demonstrate the ability to complete tasks accurately and according to established and shifting timelines.
- Demonstrate the ability to make quality scheduling, resource allocation, and priorities decisions.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to travel between and within facilities to visit staff, operations, and projects, as needed.
- Ability to sit, stand, climb stairs, and climb ladders to mezzanines (when necessary).
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on occasion.
- Ability to use PPE (safety shoes, goggles, respirators, gloves, etc. when necessary).
