The Top of the Mark Lounge Manager will lead in providing day-to-day leadership and direction by maximizing financial returns, driving development of people, creating and maintaining a consistent quality service, and operating standards as established by the InterContinental Brand. Will lead in creating seasonal cocktail menu; collaborate with the Executive Chef in food (appetizer) menu pairing. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
A little taste of your day-to-day:
- Food & Beverage costs and requisitions or purchases supplies.
- Inspects food & beverage and preparation to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
- Investigates and resolves food & beverage quality and service complaints.
- Reviews financial transactions and monitors budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations.
- Supervises the day-to-day operation of the team.
- Assists the Director of Food & Beverage in all administrative areas.
- Participates in the preparation of the hotel's strategic plan, marketing plan, goals program and the Food & Beverage departmental budget.
- Conducts, under the guidance of the Director of Food & Beverage, such functions as hiring specific levels of employees, employee orientation, on-the-job performance appraisal, coaching and suspension if necessary to ensure appropriate staffing and productivity.
- Develops formal training plans and conducts on-the-job training sessions for Food & Beverage Department employees.
What We need from you:
- Some college and/or advanced training in food and beverage management.
- Two to four years related experience, including management experience within a large full-service luxury hotel or resort operation is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification in Hotel Management, culinary arts, or related field preferred.
- Strong understanding of business management and accounting principles.
- Excellent computer, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to diffuse tense situations and resolve conflicts.
- Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Effectively delegate responsibilities and maximize resources.
What you can expect from us:
The salaried pay range for this role is $80,000 to $90,000. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at InterContinental Mark Hopkins. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
