The People Operations Business Partner will focus on Benefits in addition to supporting assigned business units. The role will report to the interim Chief People Officer and work with a team of People Operations Business Partners and Specialists to support a diverse team of non-exempt and exempt team members based in CA as well as WA, TX, AZ and VA as well as remotely.
Remote and California benefits and LOA experience is essential.
Specific Responsibilities:
Respond to escalated benefits questions from team members regarding general inquiries, federal and state laws, status changes, benefits enrollments, and plan provisions.
Administer and process all disability paperwork and leave-of-absence requests such as FMLA, disability, personal, and medical.
Perform strategic quality checks; performance reviews, compensation increases, promotions.
Respond to team member’s 401 (k) escalated questions regarding contribution amounts, plan changes, enrollments, and yearly catch-up contribution enrollment.
Respond to team member’s escalated healthcare benefits questions regarding contribution amounts, submitting claims, plan changes, enrollments, and manage qualifying life events.
Collect data and perform cost and data analysis to formulate logical benefits plan conclusions.
Lead benefits plan reviews, renewal evaluations and open enrollment.
Evaluate job positions to determine adequate employee classifications.
Work closely with the compensation committee to support pay transparency programming.
Respond to employee reported injuries and file workers compensation claims. Audit and submit OSHA 300 filing on a yearly basis.

Identify needs and develop programs designed to build team engagement and company culture.
Be a super user of Payloicty
Analyze HR metrics and develop HR solutions, programs, and policies.
Implement HR solutions, programs, policies, and programs to drive continuous improvement.
Resolve employee issues and grievances, conducting unbiased investigations as needed leveraging deep understanding of Employment Laws and how they work.
Monitor and report on workforce and succession planning.
Assist with structuring compensation, benefits, and other perks & packages.
Act as a change agent and single point of contact for employees and managers in the business unit.
Build a strong business relationship with team members of assigned business units.

Requirements
Must be PHR certifed.
5+ years of HR industry experience, preferably with a growing organization of no less than 500 employees in a mixed Remote and multi-state setting.
Experience managing ALE employee reporting.
Deep understanding of medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, voluntary coverages, and COBRA.
Deep understanding of all state and federal regulations pertaining to insurance and employee benefits.
Deep knowledge of Paylocity and use of reporting.
Remote and California experience benefits experience is essential.
