Job Description
A medical assistant program director oversees the certificate or degree program at a vocational school or community college that trains aspiring medical assistants. As a medical assistant program director, your job duties include collaborating with faculty to develop curriculum, assessing the instructional needs of students and making adjustments to the program as necessary, creating class schedules, and hiring and training staff and faculty. You may also be responsible for recruiting students to the program and maintaining accreditation.
Other duties include:
- Responsible for leveraging their expertise to develop, maintain, and deliver education services to students by creating and maintaining core curriculum, ensuring delivery of core curriculum, preparing course plans and material, supervising staff, and overseeing the MA Program.
- Monitor and manage student progress and attendance, student advising, and grade reporting.
- Ensure continuous compliance with Federal, State, and Institutional accreditation agencies.
Qualifications
- Skills must have: 3 years in a Program Director role in an educational facility, along with 3 years as an MA in the field.
- Preferred: oversaw a department of 200 plus students and faculty.
