OVERVIEW:
The Director of IT Architecture and Compliance is in charge of assisting the business in choosing investments that strike a balance between short-term operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities, and the organization's longer-term strategic goal. This role offers best practices, enterprise and data architecture, principles, road maps, and technological recommendations. This position will have responsibility to direct the change and release management activities that ensure the successful deployment of all software/hardware releases and/or patches to the live production environment. This position is also accountable for improving, via influence in the development teams, the quality assurance and quality control testing strategies for both project and support work within the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains Enterprise Architecture and governance staff by establishing, coordinating, and enforcing system policies and procedures, as well as by establishing job expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results. Budgets for connected departments are planned and managed.
- Directs initiatives for the organization's enterprise architecture's creation, upkeep, and management. Creates and disseminates architectural policies, norms, regulations, and recommendations. Promotes the EA process, results, and outcomes to top leadership and the enterprise. Works with project management and IT leaders to guarantee progress toward architectural alignment with project goals and requirements. Oversees and coordinates strategic vendor management.
- Assures that all testing activities, including those for project and support work, are efficiently planned, tracked, and carried out using a matrix organization in partnership with the BBG development teams in accordance with industry best practices and the software testing life cycle processes.
- Conducts a complete analysis and assessment of all rollout, back out, communication, scheduling, and risk mitigation techniques to make sure deployments are carried out without interfering with business operations.
- Assists company leaders in comprehending their needs and the impact that technological compromises have on strategy. Oversees the investigation and assessment of emerging technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a field closely linked to it, together with coursework in technology-related subjects, as well as any equivalent technical training and job experience. Preferred: master's degree.
- Ten or more years of work experience in IT, business, or industry, including managing large-scale IT projects with cross-functional teams, managing the lifetime of systems, and playing a variety of positions within various IT departments.
- Five or more years of progressively responsible management experience supporting a significant Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
- Leadership expertise in influencing top-level management and important stakeholders while overseeing numerous, sizable, cross-functional teams or projects.
- An understanding of every element of a comprehensive enterprise architecture, business re-engineering principles and procedures, and a foundational understanding of financial models and budgeting.
- An understanding of QA/QC, testing methodology, and application testing strategies.
- ITIL knowledge.
