Our Medical Affairs team is looking for a remote part-time/flexible Physician Reviewer (Assistant Medical Director) – Psychiatry. Adolescent psychiatry experience preferred. This is a part-time position with flexible hours (working 10 to 20 hours per week). This position will support our DC contract. Paperwork to credential in Alaska will need to be completed once hired. Candidates can reside anywhere within the United States. This person will need to have a medical license in the District of Columbia or attain one after hire. Our Medical Affairs team, consisting of 30 physicians/dentists and a network of over 35 physician consultants, provides medical review, quality of care oversight, and consultation for various contracts with government and private sector benefit programs. In collaboration with our clients, we develop and implement review criteria to ensure patients get evidence-based care at the right time.
In this role, you would:
- Apply clinical judgment, evidence-based medicine, and other resources to render timely decisions on clinical peer reviews.
- Interact with attending physicians regarding potential decertification and related matters.
- Provide appropriate and timely subject matter expertise and other support to clinical reviewers, case managers, and consultants.
- Ensure that reviews meet standards for clarity of decision-making and recordkeeping.
What we're looking for:
- Active, current, valid, and unrestricted M.D. or D.O license or certification in a state or territory of the U.S.
- Board certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Psychiatry.
- 7 years of clinical experience.
- Have or ability to obtain a DC Medical License.
- Addiction experience or substance use work.
- Adolescent experience.
Ideal candidates may also have any of the following:
- Psychiatrists with some adolescent experience.
- Substance use disorder experience.
- Teaching skills/training.
Competencies:
- Possess the qualifications, as determined by the National Medical Director or designee, to render clinical opinions about the medical conditions, procedures, and/or treatments under review.
- Basic MS Office Suite proficiency.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
