Managing Consultant, Land Use Permitting
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- BS/MS in engineering, environmental science, biology, or natural resources or related field
- At least 10 years of experience in land use permitting in New Jersey with a background in site investigation and remediation
- Experience with NJDEP Site Remediation Program, PADEP Division of Site Remediation, and/or PADEP Land Recycling Program
- Experience with NJDEP Division of Land Resource Protection and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the preparation of permitting documents and reports
- Strong technical writing, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated project management skills, budget and proposal preparation, and technical competence
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER trained
Responsibilities
- This position includes the management of all aspects of land use permitting, including but not limited to the management of field surveys and/or wetland assessments, reviewing and evaluating permit applicability, preparing permit applications and environmental impact statements, development of permitting plans, coordinating and participating in both client and agency meetings, and development of required permitting reports for a wide variety of projects, including brownfields redevelopment, site remediation and land based support for offshore wind
- This position will also include supporting and implementing site characterization and remedial action projects that involve potentially unacceptable human and ecological exposures to chemicals in soil, groundwater, sediment and/or surface water, and providing technical support for litigation and/or regulatory negotiations
- Lead the preparation and review of local, state, and federal permitting documents with an emphasis on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection rules and regulations
- Lead client and agency meetings regarding land use permitting and remedial action activities
- Conduct and prepare remedial/permitting alternatives analyses
- Manage field surveys and/or wetland assessments and preparation of associated deliverables
- Prepare reports and other written communication
- Develop and maintain Client relationships, including preparation of project budgets and proposals
- Manage and lead junior to mid-level staff in development of site investigation, site characterization and land use permitting skill sets
- Support regulatory negotiations and the evaluation of technical documents (e.g., scientific articles, regulations)

Ramboll US Consulting, Inc. is a leading scientific environmental consulting firm providing a broad range of technical services to both public and private sector clients. We are seeking motivated and qualified candidates to join our team in Princeton, New Jersey or Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as an environmental senior managing consultant or managing consultant with a focus on land use permitting for our site solutions (investigation and remediation) team.
