ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Director, Target/Kroger position is a key member of the Sales Leadership Team at Beiersdorf. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the growth agenda and executing effective strategies to facilitate profitable sales growth at Target and Kroger. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial drive and passion to drive transformational growth in our key retail channels. Thought leadership and an ability to be data driven will be keys to success. This position is responsible for developing and retaining sales talent and strong cross-functional relationships with Shopper and Customer Marketing, Brand Marketing, Controlling, Finance, and Supply Chain. This role must be based in the Cincinnati or Minneapolis area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the Target/Kroger U.S. team
- Lead development and implementation of strategic business plans across Target & Kroger.
- Be a subject matter expert and advocate for Target & Kroger key initiatives within Beiersdorf.
- Ensure delivery of sales and KPI scorecard metrics for Beiersdorf in Target/Kroger stores
- Deliver top line and bottom line growth objectives while achieving brand share gains.
- Accountable for Target & Kroger participation in internal S&OP process.
- Manage senior level relationships with our retail partners in partnership with the Senior Director, National Accounts and VP of Sales.
- Successfully manage and develop team structure that includes several non-direct reports (Supply Chain/Replenishment)
- Ensure controls are maintained to spend within budget on trade, promotions and shopper marketing programs.
- Develop business forecast, lead JBP, support and provide feedback on new item concepts and account opportunities for growth.
- Develop and manage Target/Kroger store format and ecommerce strategies, aligning the sales team and business partners/leaders to support execution and deployment of critical tactics and action plans.
- Support corporate growth initiatives in role as Sales Leadership Team member.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must live in market of Kroger or Target HQ
- BS/BA required, MBA or master’s degree preferred.
- Experience in Customer Packaged Goods Industry.
- Experience in and proven track record of thriving in fast-paced environment with ambiguity.
- 10+ years of CPG Sales, Trade Marketing, Sales Strategy, or similar discipline experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Field Sales or similar discipline, selling to at least two channels.
- Leadership experiences with proven track record of developing high performing teams.
- Project management experience with high visibility to leadership and proven track record of meeting deadlines.
- Proven experience in managing and building teams, develop strong relationships across functions and ability to influence key decision makers.
- Proven ability to think strategically leveraging data sources like Nielsen/Circana and increase effectiveness at achieving overall strategies in a highly collaborative environment.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills to influence and secure cross-functional support; at all levels in the organization.
- Must have high level analytical skills and business acumen to build strong business cases for change.
- Must be technology savvy and have strong office productivity software skills (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel, SAP) to use promotion databases, financial reporting, and promotional analysis.
