As the Vice President, you will be accountable for driving key business operations across Middle Market, the business strategy and execution of Transformational, Operational and Portfolio Planning at a planning unit level. We’ll count on you to ensure the disciplined delivery and execution of operational projects in Middle Market Commercial Lines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leverage technical leadership and deep commercial and Middle Market expertise to modernize the business strategy, develop and execute strategic roadmaps, plans for projects and initiatives to advance business and technology capabilities to perform as a World Class Underwriting Company. 20%
- Provide change management and stakeholder management leadership. Ability to effectively manage communications during complex program/project environment through communication planning, information distribution and performance reporting. 15%
- Lead and sponsor business transformational programs and projects to deliver on business strategic and operational goals to drive stronger performance. Lead Business & Technology enablement team to execute on Policy Center migration, AI applications and next generation of technology enhancements and deliver business targeted outcomes. Lead Policy Center migration efforts to ensure strong collaboration with key business stakeholders; underwriting, COEs, technology and other cross-functional partners to deliver targeted operational outcomes. 25%
- Lead business processing, co-sourcing, outsourcing, vendor management, and underwriting workflow strategy and processes. 15%
- Accountable for strategic portfolio management, data analysis, identifying industry trends to leverage to inform business strategy and accelerate delivery on key business targeted outcomes. 15%
- Develop best-in-class talent strategy to meet the current and future needs of the business using a foundational skills framework to enable skills-based workforce planning/insights to be a World Class Underwriting Company with a highly engaged workforce. 10%
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to Senior Vice President Claims and Operations. Leads a team of executives and A-H operation focused associates.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
- 15+ years of Commercial Property and Casualty experience, including underwriting, product, pricing, program development, developing business strategies or other related experience. Prefer middle market underwriting, product or pricing experience.
- 10+ years management leading strategic transformational change initiatives.
- 5+ years in people leadership experience.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree with post graduate studies preferred.
License/Certification/Designation:
Professional designation such as CPCU is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Establishing Strategic Direction, Building Organizational Talent, Optimizing Diversity, Selling the Vision, Leading Change, Driving Execution, Entrepreneurship. Strong understanding of commercial lines business operations (product management, underwriting, etc.). Proven ability to lead large complex, multidimensional programs/initiatives. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of management; advanced organizational abilities and the capability to manage several diverse tasks concurrently; high levels of credibility and professionalism in dealings with senior executives and the Board of Directors.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
