The Role
As our first Senior Cost Accountant at Moxion Power, you'll be responsible for the accurate costing of inventory in the ERP as it moves through the manufacturing process. This role will interface heavily with manufacturing and supply chain to ensure the integrity of information in NetSuite, develop and monitor labor and overhead rates capitalized into finished goods, and investigate and resolve erroneous inventory transactions on a timely basis.
What you'll do:
- Help own the COGS process from end to end; review inventory transactions and resolve discrepancies with operations.
- Maintain accuracy of labor and overhead costs applied to intermediate and finished goods.
- Reconcile intercompany inventory transactions & inventory reports with the general ledger for month-end close.
- Develop costing and variance reports sufficient for management’s analysis.
- Interface with business partners to maintain the accuracy of fixed assets.
- Represent accounting during the implementation of manufacturing execution system.
- Collaborate with supply chain and other key departments in the procure to pay cycle.
Skills to be successful:
- Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance.
- 2+ years in Cost Accounting function.
- 3+ years in overall Accounting experience in Manufacturing.
- Experience with intercompany transactions.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Strong financial analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and stress management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
