We are currently seeking a Director of IT Infrastructure who will help APi Group create common capabilities across the enterprise. In this position, you will provide strategic leadership to infrastructure teams, including Network Operations, System Engineering, and Messaging & Collaboration. The right candidate must have the technical aptitude to roll up their sleeves and contribute when required.
The objective of this role is to collaborate with users and other IT departments to maintain a reliable computing environment (99.99% system uptime goal), delivering quality processes, controls, and system support for APi Group. This requires strong business and technical knowledge and an understanding of various server, storage, and network platforms.
The Director of IT Infrastructure is critical as we strive to maintain our existing technology and build a sustainable, enterprise-wide support framework. You’ll be hands-on with the details in this role as we expand technical capabilities. As a member of our technical leadership team, you’ll be responsible for helping to create an Outsized Impact for APi Group operating companies. Success in this role means driving our platform's future and ensuring it’s built with security and controls that align with industry best practices.
Administrative functions of this position include managing the budget, planning the utilization of resources, and playing an active role in planning (2-5 years) the technical roadmap of the IT infrastructure, actively working with global peers. This is a hybrid position (3 days working on-site) in our New Brighton, MN office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide strategic direction for the specific infrastructure capabilities: Network Operations, Systems Engineering, Messaging & Collaboration
- Supervise the implementation and maintenance of our company’s computing needs through a coordinated effort with the Cyber Security team as well as our Managed Service Providers
- Responsible for the reliable and secure operations of APi Group IT Infrastructure
- Manage workload capacity and resources
- Manage budgets and AOP Forecasting
- Provide oversight to vendor partners
- Responsible for the Disaster Recovery capability and annual testing
- Partner with peers to identify opportunities for more efficient delivery of services
- Create and maintain technology roadmaps
- Ensure system capacity is appropriate for current usage levels and projected growth
- Mentorship, coaching, and career development of staff
- Connect with business leaders across the organization to ensure technology aligns with the business needs
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience managing Managed Service Providers
- Experience managing cloud (AWS/AZURE) and on-prem infrastructure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills – able to communicate appropriately to different audiences, including C-Suite and Upper Management
- Proven working experience in a comparable role with elevated responsibilities in the management of IT infrastructure
- Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis, and computer hardware/software systems
- Must have a solid hands-on/technical knowledge of core Microsoft technologies including but not limited to Windows Servers, Active Directory, MS SQL and core Network/Cisco technologies like LAN/WAN, subnets, firewalls, VLAN's, and VPN using Cisco switches, and routers
- Expertise in data center management & network operations
- Knowledge of computer networks, network administration, and network installations
- Prior experience with Cisco network SD-WAN deployment and support
- Self-motivated and self-directed with the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time

Benefits and Compensation:
This role can be performed remotely from any office in the United States. The pay range is $145,000 - $218,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.
