Confluent Medical Technologies is growing! We’re looking for a Sales Director to join our Sales team. This is a remote/home office role to be located in Minnesota or Iowa.
As a uniquely qualified candidate, you will:
The Sales Director is responsible for developing new production programs for the Confluent Medical portfolio. The Sales Director will be responsible for identifying, qualifying, developing proposals and then closing new production opportunities. The Sales Director will be responsible for ensuring that the production opportunities are aligned with the Confluent Medical strategic plans, core capabilities and achieve profitability goals. Additional responsibilities include maintaining an account profile of customer information, learning potential customer’s development pipelines, keeping business tasks organized, developing business proposals, expense management, supply agreement negotiation, trade shows and customer support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Execute plans to achieve assigned goals and objectives; primary tasks will support the overall Confluent Medical business strategy.
- Ability to communicate and execute a new opportunity process that includes:
- Prospecting
- Qualifying
- Solution development
- Negotiation
- Program closing
Execute marketing strategies.Control expenses within budget.Can effectively work in a position where compensation is directly based on personal sales goal achievement.Customer Knowledge:
- Understands the customer’s business model and strategies.
- Understands the customer’s organization, functions, processes and key decision makers.
- Understands the related customer problems, challenges and opportunities.
- Has the ability to understand customer needs and opportunities without being directly asked or requested by the customer.
Selling Skills and Sales Process:
- Can effectively manage a sales call: opening, probing, supporting, closing, indifference and resolving concerns.
- Identify, establish and maintain productive relationships with key decision makers as well as front-line purchasing personnel.
- Plan and implement effective sales/product presentations.
- Effectively manage a sales process: prospecting, qualifying, prioritizing opportunities, and aligning activities to achieve key goals.
- Can perform a financial and analytical analysis in order to understand the financial impact of a proposal and project business case, taking into consideration factors such as market risk, market adoption, product costs and volumes.
Representative at industry conferences.Product Knowledge:
- Understands the basic features and benefits of the product and competitive products we produce.
- Is familiar with the product applications and how the product integrates into a customer solution.
- Understands how to call upon internal Confluent Medical resources for appropriate customer services.
- Recognize and understand competitive products, features, strengths in relation to the company’s products.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive clinical and technical knowledge.
Personnel Management:
- Responsible for the hiring, training and development of sales coordinators as assigned.
Communication and Company Support:
- Contribute to the development of a strong team effort.
- Actively participate and lead company initiatives such as annual goals and business strategies.
- Communicate market intelligence/competitor activity promptly.
- Ensure a professional standard of written and verbal communication.
Self-Development and Product Knowledge:
- Maintain high standards of personal presentation and promote a professional personal and company image.
- Actively participate in skills development programs.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE required:
- Bachelor’s Degree Required With a Technical Degree Preferred
- 5 plus years’ surgical sales / sales management experience with medical device experience relevance.
- Demonstrated success in previous sales role; indicating a high level of sales performance.
- Teaching and educating customers on product and technically relevant information.
- Computer proficiency.
- Ability to travel 40% of the time.

- Fluent English communication skills, written and oral.
- Ability to work independently to schedule and perform personal activities that achieve assigned goals.
- Highly accountable for personal performance to effect sales goal achievement.
