Quantum-Si is looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Software Test Engineer to join our team! As a Senior Software Test Engineer, you will be a vital part of the Software Test Engineering team within the Product Development organization, helping to ensure our products are of top-notch quality.
We are developing research instruments that perform high speed data acquisition utilizing our proprietary CMOS Sensor technology. Our software is at the intersection of control systems, high speed data-acquisition, hardware communication interfaces, Linux driver, sequencing analysis and cloud-based web applications. You will have an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of challenging projects, from building automated tests to verifying requirements for existing and new products.
Core Responsibilities:
- Software Testing activities within complete Software Development Life Cycle using Agile methodologies and processes on a next generation Protein Sequencing instrument interfaced with cloud-based web applications.
- Review System Specifications/Requirements documents, user stories, create test cases based on customer requirements, and execute test cases.
- Create verification and validation test plans, test reports, traceability metrics and review with relevant stakeholders.
- Review deliverables and tasks for accuracy, consistency, thoroughness, and compliance.
- Ensure adequate quality test coverage for every release.
- Review code differences and develop solid regression test strategy.
- Perform Functional testing, Exploratory testing, System level testing, End-to-end testing, Sanity Testing, Performance Testing and Automation.
- Investigate and report issues through defects management.
- Verify bug fixes, participate in root-cause analysis, investigation, and mitigation activities.
- Provide recommendations and feedback to improve the Agile SDLC process and fill the gaps as necessary.
- Mentor and provide daily guidance to the junior members of Software Test team, as needed.
- Act as a Technical expert and share knowledge within team members.
- Maintain various test environments (such as Dev, Test, Staging, Prod etc.)
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or an equivalent field, along with at least 5 years of industry experience in Software Testing, Verification, Validation and Automation.
- Master’s degree with at least 5 years of industry experience is preferred.
- Must have excellent problem solving and verbal/written communication skills.
- Should be able to work both independently as well as part of cross-functional teams.
- Should be highly organized, self-motivated and detail oriented.
- Medical device or Scientific instrument testing experience in a lab environment.
- Experience with Agile Software Development methodology.
- Experience with embedded systems and integration testing with complex sub-systems.
- Experience with mobile and web application testing as well as cloud computing experience with AWS or GCP.
- Experience with JIRA/Confluence, GitHub, Test case & defects management tools, Docker Container.
- Strong experience in Python, C++, Linux, JavaScript, React, CWL.
- Deep knowledge of Python scientific computing libraries (For example: NumPy, SciPy, SciKit-Learn, etc.) is a plus.
- Working experience with CI/CD pipelines (such as GitHub Action) is a plus.
- Experience in automation tools like Selenium, Postman, JMeter.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, web services testing.
- Real passion for testing with a can-do attitude and a team player mindset are most welcomed.
Ideally, you also have these skills/experiences/attributes (but it’s ok if you don’t!):
- Experience with SQL/PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience with GraphQL and React Relay.
- Experience packaging, deploying, testing, and releasing algorithms to run in customer facing applications.
- Experience testing medical and quality standards/protocols such as IEC62304.
The estimated base salary range for this role based in the United States of America is: $125,000 - $165,000. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, level of the position, an individual’s skills, knowledge and abilities, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all full-time employees are eligible for our discretionary bonus program and equity as part of the compensation package.
