Craft exceptional digital experiences and contribute to a vibrant community of designers, researchers, and strategists.
You will be responsible for guiding significant design initiatives, leveraging deep insights into customer behavior to uncover opportunities, and spearhead the execution and delivery of groundbreaking solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in aligning business objectives with user needs and delivering impactful outcomes for clients and their customers. Your passion for human-centered design will drive innovation across diverse focus areas, including digital product development, large-scale dot coms, and integrated omni channel customer experiences.
Be Responsible and Accountable
Strategic Design Leadership
- Guide the overall design strategy, applying your extensive knowledge in experience strategy and design principles, emerging trends, and technologies. Create digital products and multi-channel digital experiences that users find invaluable, ensuring they are best-in-class.
- Lead the conceptual design of multi-channel digital solutions and systems. Apply a strong understanding of research methodologies to inform innovative digital experiences, ranging from generative and formative research to evaluative testing, ensuring our solutions are informed, innovative, and impactful.
Cultivate design excellence within the MERGE Experience team
- Serve as a mentor and leader, promoting a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning. Keep abreast of and integrate the latest design trends, techniques, and technologies into our practices and workflows.
- Promote user-centered design principles. Advocate vigorously for accessibility and inclusion, maintaining user needs and perspectives at the core of the design process.
- Leverage analytics and data-driven insights to refine and enhance design solutions, cultivating a strong partnership with MERGE analytics team.
Client Relationship and Engagement
- Serve as a primary liaison with current and prospective clients, understanding their vision and translating it into compelling digital solutions.
- Partner with Solution Consultants on business development, pitches, and existing client opportunities, including solutioning, scoping, and resourcing.
- Guide the team in delivering impactful design concepts and solutions, articulating the rationale and potential impact, and ensuring solutions are consistently aligned with project goals.
These are the qualifications we’re looking for:
- 8+ years of experience in designing solutions, preferably within an advertising agency, design firm or consultancy agency
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field and/or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated experience with healthcare (e.g. healthcare systems, health plans, pharmaceuticals). Further experience in one or more of the following is also valuable: consumer products, financial services, and e-commerce
- A collaborative and innovative problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise across a variety of digital platforms (websites, mobile apps, digital products, enterprise applications, cross-channel experiences)
- In-depth application of UX principles, information architecture, and interaction design
- Expertise in component-based design systems, ensuring consistency and efficiency across platforms
- Command of accessibility and inclusive design standards including the ability to apply Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
- Demonstrated ability and enthusiasm for collaborating with visual design, design research, and development teams
- Knowledge of responsive and adaptive design, proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in with agile and lean UX methodologies
- Experience with generative and evaluative design research
- Experience with research tools such as UserTesting, Lookback, or Optimal Workshop
- Excellent communication skills, a team-oriented growth mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement and learning
- Experience planning and facilitating design workshops with stakeholders, internal teams, and/or users
- Experience working closely with content strategists creating modular design systems (working with content models, and/or object-oriented design is a plus)
- Exposure to building personalized experiences
Nice to have
- Experience with leading DXPs (e.g. Adobe Experience Platform, Sitecore), Salesforce Marketing Cloud, or e-commerce platforms (Magento, Shopify) is a plus.
- Collaboration experience with visual designers; and additional digital design skills (typography, color theory) are highly valued
- Exposure to or experience in service design and CX strategy
