Nextera’s next-generation autonomous mobile robots and robotic arms are being deployed in a variety of environments – from warehouses to production floors, to construction sites.
Responsibilities:
- Design and prototype custom parts and modules for our robots
- Calculate and optimize mechanical properties
- Experiment with different materials
- Design and optimize manufacturing processes
- Lead the prototyping and assembling of a fleet of mobile robots
- Assist deployment and support teams.
You will work back-to-back with our world-class software engineers in Boston to bring the products to life. You will experiment with various approaches and components available on the market to achieve the best balance of accuracy, development time, and manufacturing costs.
Requirements:
- 5+ years full-time experience
- Good working knowledge of mechanical design, proven experience with Fusion 360 (preferable) or Solidworks
- Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping tools including CNC mills, 3D printers, laser cutters, and manual tools.
- Impressive portfolio of completed projects from past jobs, co-ops, internships, or project-based classes.
- Excellent time management skills
