The Disney Signature Experiences Emerging Business Team champions new business development projects and growth initiatives diversifying the Disney Parks, Experiences, & Products portfolio and delivering incremental revenue and OI. The team has accountability for delivering the end-to-end consumer experience and defining the product standards that maximize long-term value for our consumers, cast, and shareholders.
Storyliving by Disney is one of the first projects coming out of the Emerging Business Team. Cotino, a Storyliving by Disney community, will be built in the heart of the Greater Palm Springs area. The community will welcome homeowners of all ages and will include at least one section expressly for 55 residents. Home buyers will have a range of home types to choose from, including estates, single-family homes, and condominiums.
The community is expected to surround an approximately 24-acre grand oasis featuring clear turquoise waters with Crystal Lagoons technology. A voluntary club membership will offer access to a waterfront clubhouse, a club-only beach area, recreational water activities, and Disney programming throughout the year.
The Cotino community also has Specific Plan approval for a vibrant mixed-use district featuring shopping, dining, entertainment, a beachfront hotel, and a professionally managed beach park.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for full P&L for site
- Drives Operating Participant (OP) strategy for residential, public beach, and Town Center
- Critical stakeholder in all development plans for residential & Town Center amenities
- Responsible for the Crystal Lagoon relationships and operations
- Work on securing and onboarding Tenants for Town Center
- Oversee the effective management of all operations based on the site
- Ensure adherence to all site HOA agreements and governance structures
- Act as the main Disney point of contact to on-site Builders/developers
- Ensure execution of Environmental goals for each site
- Provide leadership and hands-on guidance to the site operations team
- Lead, coach, and develop direct reports across multiple functions
- Enable leaders to deliver Disney standards and practices
- Develop and maintain relationships with local municipalities and city officials
- Be active in the community and look for outreach opportunities
- Act as a representative of the Walt Disney Company on committees and boards
- Interact with Media and Public Relations on community issues
- Provide key strategic and operational leadership
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years progressive leadership experience, including 5 years as an executive
- Community living and ideally retail complex experience
- Demonstrated experience in driving complex initiatives
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Proven ability to manage a large volume of complex work effectively
- Demonstrated effectiveness for strategic and critical thinking
- Proven ability to communicate complex ideas and craft concise recommendations
- Proven ability to anticipate the quickly changing business landscape
- Proven ability to build strategic alliances/relationships
- Proven success leading teams within a matrix organization
- Creative, passionate, and innovative thinker
- Possess an entrepreneurial spirit
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Chief Executive or Certified Club Manager accreditation
- Experience working/living within the Greater Palm Springs area
