The County seat and our offices are located in Yuba City, which is about 40 miles from Sacramento. The County, bounded by the Sacramento and Feather Rivers, encompasses 608 square miles. Sutter County is a general-law County with a population of approximately 99,000 and includes two incorporated cities, Yuba City and Live Oak.
Sutter County is now seeking a full-time California Licensed BC/BE Psychiatrist to work with a talented staff performing outpatient services at SYBH. Call is optional and paid extra.

Provide direct clinical services and medical consultation to all Behavioral Health programs and supervise all inpatient and outpatient medical staff.
Examine and diagnose clients; provide psychiatric treatment; order laboratory tests; interpret laboratory analyses; write prescriptions; review reports, record interventions and general progress of clients; and consult with other physicians, psychiatrists, practitioners, counselors and personnel regarding ongoing or problem cases.
Complete clinical documentation in a timely manner consistent with the Policies and Procedures established by Sutter-Yuba Behavioral Health. Prepare reports and related correspondence. Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other County employees, and the public, using principles of good customer service. Coordinate care with other Behavioral Health staff when appropriate for a particular case. Provide medical direction to various behavioral health staff as a part of a clinical team. Prepare and oversee the preparation of case histories, evaluations, diagnoses and the maintenance of client records. Utilize the Electronic Health Record to its fullest extent.
Consult with behavioral health staff, provider staff, and primary care physicians as necessary for the treatment and triage of clients; evaluate clients with complex psychiatric issues; attend Medical staff meetings, designated psychiatric service committees, and agency meetings as appropriate; provide testimony at court appearances when clients are involved in the legal system. Perform other services as required.
Must possess the equivalent to a Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited college or university.
Shall maintain an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of California and shall furnish a copy of the license at County's request. County shall, during the contract term, pay for actual costs of license renewal, including DEA renewal.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid California driver's license.
Must be eligible to possess a narcotics license (DEA) issued by the United States Department of Justice.
