We're seeking a seasoned Principal DevOps Engineer to spearhead our Dev Ops initiatives and empower engineering teams to deliver high-quality software faster. You'll leverage your deep expertise in pipelines-as-code (PaC), continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD), and infrastructure as code (IaC) to design and implement robust DevOps solutions aligned with Agile principles.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Design and manage robust CI/CD pipelines with code-based tools (e.g., Jenkins Pipeline, GitHub Actions) for scalable and efficient software delivery.
- Implement and manage IaC solutions (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) to ensure consistent, reliable, and automated infrastructure provisioning.
- Champion CI/CD best practices with a focus on speed, reliability, and continuous improvement of the delivery process.
- Embrace 'Documentation-as-Code' to create clear, maintainable documentation for processes, systems, and architectures. Foster knowledge sharing within the team.
- Collaborate effectively with developers and IT to integrate DevOps principles seamlessly into their workflows.
- Monitor and fine-tune infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines for peak performance and cost-efficiency.
- Ensure infrastructure and pipelines meet security best practices and compliance standards (SAST, DAST, secret scanning, SBOM creation).
- Stay ahead of the curve on DevOps, PaC, and IaC advancements. Advocate for and implement relevant new technologies and practices.
- Provide expert guidance in DevOps, system implementation, administration, and technical support, acting in a consultative role.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 6 years’ experience required with a Ph.D.
- 8 years’ experience required with a Master’s degree.
- 10 years’ experience required with a Bachelor’s degree.
- Acknowledged across groups as a subject matter expert.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to identify and help prevent and solve problems within group; identifies risks, generates, recommends, and implements solutions.
- Extensive experience to fully scope, design and implement solutions.
- Ability to manage highly complex technical problems.
- Ability to apply a high level of technical competence and potentially cross-discipline knowledge to solve problems.
- Ability to help lead/coordinate extremely complex technical projects and programs.
- Ability to communicate with parties within and outside of functional area and possibly with customers, vendors, etc.
- Ability to communicate with executive leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the organization.
The salary range for remote US-based applicants for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications, prior experience as well as geographic location.
- $133,200 - $166,000 base salary, plus bonus potential.
