About this role
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager specializing in distributed relational database kernel, with a focus on product planning and management within the TiDB database kernel domain. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining, designing, and driving the product throughout its lifecycle to meet user needs and remain competitive.
Responsibilities
- Formulate the strategic planning of the product, continuously improving and enhancing it through activities such as gathering user feedback, collaborating with internal teams, and working with external partners.
- Collaborate closely with the development team, leading and driving the targeted creation and successful release of features.
- Identify ways to improve customer satisfaction through the design and supervision of a comprehensive set of products, tools, and features.
- Create product-related promotional and marketing materials, and drive product and product strategy.
- Establish a feedback loop with customers to incorporate enhancements into the product.
- Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, applying these insights to enhance our products.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in at least one of the database products such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, or MariaDB. Understanding of system architecture of at least one database product, including but not limited to memory structure, transaction model, storage engines, and operational diagnostics.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in database-related product management, with preference given to those with development or cloud database product management experience.
- Experience working in the database ecosystem, familiarity with the TiDB ecosystem is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or a related field.
- Excellent communication skills, able to collaborate efficiently with internal teams and external clients.
- Ability to translate a set of complex requirements into well-defined deliverables.
