ASSOCIATE GENERAL COUNSEL
Position Description
The Associate General Counsel is necessary to support the continuing growth of SSA Holdings, LLC. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this candidate will be responsible for legal aspects of the Company’s operations and those of its sister entities.

Responsibilities: - Draft, negotiate and participate in the review of various transaction documents associated with real estate, hospitality, acquisitions, and technology, coordinating with outside counsel and consultants as may be appropriate.
- Coordinate and facilitate compliance and risk management programs.
- Challenge existing thinking and present alternative solutions to ensure decisions result in intended benefits.
- Manage and hold others accountable for matters such as permitting, filings, liquor licensing, and compliance activities.
- Handle various aspects of employment-related investigations and draft responses to counsel and various governmental agencies.
- Provide legal support and strategic thinking for corporate governance, privacy, labor and employment, and management activities.
- Interpret and advise on existing and emerging labor laws in multiple jurisdictions, including wage and hour laws, disability and leave requirements, workplace harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination claims.
- Be an effective advocate and advisor to internal teams to address and provide practical legal solutions.
- Interpret contract and compliance requirements, obligations and risk exposure and advise the business as to appropriate course(s) of action in all areas of risk management.
- Have a working knowledge of litigation procedures and rules of evidence. Effectively use this knowledge to respond to requests for production, requests for admissions, and interrogatories with all appropriate redactions.
- Develop and improve legal processes of the Company and its affiliates.
- Manage outside counsel as may be appropriate.
Qualifications: - A Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school, admission to the bar and in good standing, preferably in the State of California, Illinois, or New York.
- 8+ years of experience as a civil litigator, with experience handling all aspects of litigation.
- Effective communication skills.
- Demonstrated successful leadership and collaboration with colleagues and ability to develop solutions with effective presentation of risks.
- Proven ability to prioritize and manage simultaneous deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to work independently, efficiently, and effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues and take a business-oriented approach while identifying and balancing legal risks and providing succinct, accurate and pragmatic advice.
- Exceptional analytical skills, independent judgment, a desire to learn, and an ability to take on and prioritize a wide variety of complex matters.
Work Environment: This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines, and is based in Denver, Colorado. Remote work may be available for the right candidate.
Travel Expected travel is likely to be 20% or less for this position.

Compensation and Benefits - Salary is based on range in consideration of relevant job experience and certification/education.
