The Hired Guns are seeking a highly skilled Director of Product Management for Bag, Checkout, and Payments (i.e., the transaction funnel) to lead a team of customer-centric Product Managers to success by championing a world-class product vision at a top-ten e-commerce company whose impressive growth is making headlines.
The Nitty Gritty
The backstory on the organization and why they need to hire you!
By skillfully combining the power of the Internet with the best in retailing, this iconic business has quickly become a top-ten e-tailer and is reaching new digital heights in 2022. Due to their rapid growth in scale and success, they’re looking for a Director of Product Management who will focus on driving strategy for their transaction funnel (bag, checkout, and payments). In this role, you will lead a team of customer-centric product managers united around a long-term strategy you will develop for the transaction funnel – supporting both on-site and mobile app shopping experiences.
You’ll be tasked with creating and managing this customer-centric vision in order to simplify every aspect of customer bag, checkout, and payments domains across all products and channels. You’ll manage, mentor, and lead your team within the larger product organization, ensuring they are effective at driving positive business and customer outcomes, while also growing their engagement with the organization’s culture and values. If you have a passion for building great product experiences, empathy for the customer and stakeholders, and a talent for solving customer and business problems, then this is the gig for you.
Why You?
How you’ll know if you’re a fit…
Hands down – you’re great at spotting opportunities to take friction out of the customer’s experience in ways that support key business goals. If this sounds like you, keep reading.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of digital product management practice, with 3+ years’ management / people leadership experience. You have 3+ years experience with e-commerce transactional funnel optimization or consumer digital payments flows. Of course, e-tail and e-commerce experience is preferred, but experience in an online retail environment (direct to consumer) – preferably in apparel, home, or consumer technology products – is welcome too. It goes without saying that you have a demonstrated understanding of the techniques and methods of modern e-commerce product discovery and product delivery. You always put the customer first, and you’re excited about having a real impact on the customer experience for a growing top-ten e-commerce company. Plus, you have deep knowledge in multiple functional areas of business – engineering, design, finance, sales, or marketing – and you can drive a product team to outstanding success.
Your product-management toolkit is well stocked with expertise in scaled agile methodologies, lean development process, and customer-focused design. You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires you to orchestrate synergies across multiple product-delivery teams. Experience with Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, FullStory, JIRA/Confluence, and Figma are all pluses!
