What you will be doing:
We are looking for a beauty savvy, passionate product developer to join our team as the Sr Manager of Product Development for our Beauty Tools.
- Start the conceptualization phase of the product development process, collaborating on the concepts and turning them into detailed briefs with innovative POD’s and claims to support each new launch.
- Ensure the uniqueness of the product experience delivers upon the brand strategy, collaborating closely with marketing on the positioning to support claims, building value analysis into every new development.
- Complete all product development functions across the process from concept to launch, working cross-functionally and closely partnering with Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, Legal, and Supply Chain in Asia for the beauty tools product pipeline.
- Create beauty tools within the product roadmaps and execute day-to-day product development activities, completing the product pipeline, delivering accurate product cost estimates for project financial justification, establishing product specs for the briefs, working hand in hand with ID and Engineering, evaluating prototypes, and ensuring production meets all product design functionality and performance requirements.
- Responsible for overall timelines to ensure all product development tasks are met on time, with alignment among all parties including the VP of Product Development, VP of Marketing, Engineers, and Design.
- Report on project status updates, risks, and suggest solutions to mitigate risks, ensuring the product development timeline and tasks are moving forward on time and all product measurables and key turning points are aligned throughout the NPD process.
- Work closely with Marketing in each step of the development process, keeping them informed of status updates, sample feedback, aligning on communication, and partnering on delivering the unmet needs, reviewing copy and education materials to ensure accuracy of the product as intended.
- Follow and maintain the product roadmap timeline to improve resource utilization.
- Prepare and present projects for project/design reviews, tooling reviews, brainstorm sessions, weekly team meetings, etc. per the NPD process. Report out in Phase Reviews and dashboard meetings, work with management to resolve obstacles, evaluate risks, and recommend solutions.

- Ability to harness the team’s technical creativity and transform it into specific design solutions that meet schedule, cost, and product performance goals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to problem solve.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to switch between projects without sacrificing quality and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proactive and self-motivated individual with a passion for product development in beauty, staying up to date with industry trends.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- 7+ years in the personal care industry within product development.
- Experience in product development in beauty/personal care - preferably experience with beauty tools.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and seek assistance when needed.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to present technical risks and ideas to all levels.
- Proven experience understanding and working with/around a sophisticated patent environment.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with engineers.
