As Sailing Program Director, you will be largely responsible for the success of 10 concurrent one-week classes. The first class is scheduled to begin the 3rd week in June, and the final class will end near the end of August. Each class will have approximately 29 students utilizing the MBYC youth sailing fleet consisting of a mix of Opti prams, Vanguard 15s, and Lasers. Your staff will include 4 Senior Instructors who will assist you at all sessions, and you will supervise a small team of 2 Junior Instructors who will support each program session.
You will also be expected to:
- Develop and bring forward candidates for instructor positions
- Provide final recommendations to the committee and obtain MBYC Youth Sail Chairman approval
- Support orientation of instructors
- Ensure time cards are checked and turned in to the appropriate YS committee member
- Ensure safe and efficient overall management of day-to-day program
There will be overtime expectations to support our Youth Racing Program, associated regattas, skill-building private sessions with program participants (scheduled individually), and open sailing sessions on Wednesday evenings (4:00 to 6:30 pm). The overtime requirement has averaged about 4 hours per week in recent years, and you will have the ability to delegate a portion of this to your instructor staff.
Please send your resume and application to the MBYC Youth Sail Committee Chairman. For more information, feel free to contact via email.
