HOSPITALIST POSITION - NORTHEAST UTAH
This is a position for a Hospitalist for Internal Medicine. A traditional block schedule with 7 days on and 7 days off is the proposed format, but we are very flexible and open to other ideas from the candidate. This is a solo hospitalist position, not with a group. Guaranteed fixed salary in the $200K range with a full benefits package including paid expenses. Additionally, 95% of the revenue generated by the hospitalist is paid to the Hospitalist as a bonus. While it will fluctuate, candidates should anticipate seeing 6-20 patients a day on average in the beginning and doing 26 shifts a year.
The Hospitalist would take all adult medicine patients from the ER. They would manage patients on the floor unless a physician admitted their own patient directly from the clinic and wanted to follow them. The role will also assist with the post-op management of surgical patients. There is mandatory ICU coverage, but our ICU is more of a step-down unit compared to larger metro hospitals. For unassigned patients who need follow-up, we would have a rotation.
There is a possibility of this position being an employed position of a hospital group out of Salt Lake City that currently covers for us. In this scenario, the candidate would live in town but be employed by the Salt Lake group, which would be discussed in further detail in an interview. This position does not qualify as an underserved area for federal government loan repayment; however, we can provide loan repayment as part of the compensation plan.
